Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between a Moving Broker and a Moving Carrier?

A moving broker acts as the middleman between the customer and the licensed moving carrier that performs the physical transportation. A carrier owns its own trucks, employs its own movers, and holds the authority to transport goods under its company name. Brokers, like Titanic Moving Group, coordinate moves through fully licensed and insured carriers to match customers with the best options available for their route, timing, and budget.

What does “First Available Delivery Date” mean?

The first available delivery date is not your guaranteed delivery date. It’s the earliest date you’re available to receive your shipment. Some customers are ready for delivery right away, while others need several days or weeks before they can accept delivery. The delivery window begins on or after that date — not before. This helps our dispatch team plan routes efficiently while keeping your items safe in transit.

Is my move on a shared truck?

Yes — at these prices, all long-distance moves are transported on shared trucks. This means your belongings travel alongside other customers’ shipments heading in the same direction. Think of it like a postal route: the truck is loaded with multiple deliveries to reduce overall costs. This is how we keep prices low for our customers. If you prefer a dedicated or expedited truck (where only your items are transported), that option is available for an additional cost.

What packing materials do I need to provide?

We supply blankets, pads, tape, and shrink wrap for the protection of your furniture and larger items. You’ll need to provide moving boxes, TV boxes, mattress covers, and any specialty packing materials for fragile items such as mirrors, glass, or artwork—unless you opt for our full packing service, in which we provide all materials and handle the packing for you.

How long will my delivery take?

Delivery timeframes depend on distance and route:

• 100–500 miles: 5–7 business days

• 500–1,000 miles: 10–14 business days

• 1,000+ miles: 14–21 business days

These timeframes start after your first available delivery date and exclude weekends and holidays.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Titanic Moving Group is a verified, fully licensed moving broker registered with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Every carrier we work with must maintain active operating authority, cargo insurance, and liability coverage
